A doctor’s note on the shocking memory of casualty is really heart-breaking. All doctor wants their patients to be hale and hearty. Untimely death of patients due to reasons not in their hands is upsetting. A note of Dr Shimna Aziz, who saw her 17 year-old cousin’s accidental death, has gone viral.
Her Facebook note says that when she heard about her relative’s accident she rushed to the hospital. Only after reaching the hospital OP, she knew that she forgot to take her specs. She forgot to charge her phone. The hospital is only five minutes away from home. She walked to the auto stand near to the casualty during tea break to go home to take her things.
During the walk, my second cousin came in front of me. He told me that his wife’s relative who met with an accident is admitted here. He asked me whether he should be taken to another hospital. When I went inside, I saw the 17-year-old boy profusely bleeding. Doctors and staffs were trying hard to save him. The casualty doctor, a friend of mine, turned back and said ‘expired’. Many of his close relatives were standing outside to know about him.
I came outside to convey the news. The accident happened when the boy was on his way to school. All his relatives were seen wailing. I called two inside and told them the news. I tried hard to hide my tears.
I returned back to the room. Attenders were cleaning his body. His body was bleeding profusely and there were many injuries on his body. Did I enter that room just to bid goodbye to that boy whom I have never seen earlier.
I spent some time in the room and later his body was shifted to the mortuary. When I was about to leave the hospital, I saw his teachers and friends running to see him. I crossed the road, caught an auto and went home. I washed my face and hands, changed my dress and returned back to the hospital.
