THRISSUR: BJP leadership meet will be convened in Thrissur to discuss things on seats when only a few months are left for the Lok Sabha polls. At a time when the Sabarimala issue is snowballing, the BJP is planning to field senior leaders. As part of it, there are chances for party state chief P S Sreedharan Pillai to contest. K Surendran, Sobha Surendran, M T Ramesh and A N Radhakrishnan are likely to be in the fray.
In the wake of Sabarimala issue, Mizoram governor Kummanam Rajashekaran, Suresh Gopi and K P Sasikala are considered in constituencies like Thiruvananthapuram and Pathanamthitta where there are chances of victory. There are also reports that former police chief T P Senkumar is considered in Attingal constituency. A final decision will be taken after holding discussions on the seats with Sabarimala Karma Samithi. Today’s meet will also discuss which all seats should be given to BDJS.
Meantime, the meet will discuss state chief Pillai’s statement that the indefinite strike staged did not yield any results. There are chances for V Muraleedharan faction to level criticisms.
