THRISSUR: The BJP core committee has decided to give four seats to NDA’s second ally BDJS in the Lok Sabha election. The next NDA meeting will decide on the constituencies for the BDJS. The BDJS had asked for eight seats and many had opposed to Sreedharan Pillai’s suggestion to give it six seats.
Certain leaders said that asking for eight seats was like asking for moon and they couldn’t spare seats which were sure victory seats for the BJP. The seats of the BJP will be decided only after deciding on the seats of the BJDS. It is learnt that the BDJS had asked for seats including that in Kollam. The BJP will announce its final in this regard decision in the next meeting of the NDA.
There is also a demand for fielding T P Senkumar, Suresh Gopi and Kummanam Rajasekharan. Two persons acceptable by the NSS will also be in the fray.
In the meeting, which saw serious discussions on Sabarimala issue and Lok Sabha candidates, there were opposite views to the BJP’s ties with the BDJS.
