It is indeed a pride moment for the Malayalam film industry as one of its much loved stars Mohanlal, has been honoured with the Padma Bhushan award. Congratulatory messages are pouring in from all corners for the actor on the big achievement.

The actor had dedicated his Padma Bhushan honour to all the people who have contributed in his four-decade-long journey in films. Now his close aide Suresh Kumar’s words have been taken over by social media. Suresh Kumar and his actress wife Menaka shared the news along with Lalettan fans at the New Theatre. Suresh Kumar said that he had expected Lal to get the highest civilian honour. I had expected him to get Padma Bhushan. When he was conferred Padma Shri, we were all on the sets of Priyandarshan’s Kakkakuyil. When I called him to congratulate him yesterday, I told him this time I am not there instead my two children are there. Anyway it is a happy moment and what more joy is there than this, said Menaka.

Mohanlal heard the news on the sets of Priyadarshan’s ‘Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham’. The actor dedicated this honour to all who have contributed in his journey. “For me, it’s been a cinematic journey of 40 years, a journey in which my paths have crossed many thousands of people and well-wishers. Right from the light boys on the set to the luminous galaxy of stars.”
