KOZHIKODE: BJP state general secretary K Surendran has grabbed the first spot in the survey conducted by the party with the help of a private agency in every assembly. Party workers are drawn towards Surendran following his arrest over the Sabarimala protests. No other leaders except Surendran had led the protests at Sannidhanam. State president P Sreedharan Pillai had not gone beyond Pathanamthitta. It has been reported that this was also mentioned in the survey. The survey was conducted by a private agency which included several IT professionals and professors of JNU and Delhi Universities. This agency had submitted the survey report to Amit Shah. Amit Shah will declare the candidates based on this report.
BJP had taken a decision regarding the allotment of seats to BDJS in the party core committee meeting held in Thrissur. Attingal, Idukki, Chalakkudi and Vadakara seats may be given to BDJS. Sreedharan Pillai and Krishnadas factions support giving Thrissur constituency to BDJS. RSS was planning to field former DGP Senkumar at Thiruvananthapuram. However, his remarks against Nambi Narayanan has faced a lot of backlash. Though Sreedharan Pillai likes to contest from Thiruvananthapuram, NSS wants to field K Surendran in Thiruvananthapuram.
