KUTTANAD: Grade SI of Kainadi police station, A.K. Joseph, died in a scooter accident at Alappuzha-Changanasseri M.C. road. He was 55 years of age.

Accident happened around 2.30 p.m. at Pallikkoottumma junction. Meanwhile the police is not yet clear on how the accident took place. As of now, there are no eye witness as well.

No one took the initiative to take the injured Joseph to hospital. He was left on the road for 15 minutes after the accident. As he wasn’t in his police uniform nobody knew that he was a police official. He was later taken to Pulinkunnu taluk hospital and later to Alappuzha medical college by another police official who happened to pass through the area on a bike.

Doctors said that internal injury to the head as the cause of death. The impact of the hit was so strong that even Joseph’s helmet couldn’t save him.
