THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has criticised, though not directly, DCP Chaithra Theresa John, who raided CPM district Committee office recently.
“There is a tendency among some persons to demean people who carry out political activities. Certain people give in to their demands,” Pinarayi said this while giving reply to Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala in Assembly on Monday.
“Raiding party office was not a right action. The officer could not even find an accused inside the party office. I had got complaints against the police action, after which I also asked the DGP to probe the action,” he said.
Notably, none from the Opposition reacted to this remarks of the chief minister. Meanwhile, ADGP Manoj Abraham is known to have handed over a report to DGP in which it is said that there was nothing illegal in the raid conducted by Chaithra. Nevertheless, the report added that the DCP should have been more alert while raiding party offices.
