THRISSUR: The body of a CPI leader was found under mysterious circumstances at the Kanoli canal in Kodungalloor. P M Babu, native of Kunnathukadu in Mala and CPI Kodungallor mandalam secretary was found drowned. It is not clear how he fell into the river. The Mala police have started an investigation. Only after a detailed investigation, the reasons behind his death can be known.

His relatives had lodged a missing complaint yesterday. He left home yesterday morning saying that he was going to the party office. The locals saw a body floating on the river when a police investigation was on. They later identified the body to be that of Babu. Police soon reached the spot and completed the inquest proceedings. The police have denied the possibility of any attack towards Babu. However, a detailed investigation from all sides will be conducted
