THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finance Minister Dr Thomas Isaac while presenting the budget harshly criticised the centre and said the second calamity the state faced was the Sabarimala issue. The centre was cruel towards Kerala when financial assistance was sought for rebuilding the state. They cut short 1800 crore from the financial assistance to Kerala. The state suffered financial crisis due to this. They did not approve to raise the debt ceiling. . The centre did not even allow to accept the help offered by other countries. The chief minister’s relief fund has so far obtained Rs 3229 crore. 1732 crore has been distributed from this fund. A decision has been taken to spend money from the fund for relief activities. Other expenses are also there. Rs 1000 crore has been permitted for reconstruction. The state is trying to form 25 projects for the construction of Nava Kerala. The projects are organised and connected with Rebuild Kerala and KIFBY.
