THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Finance minister Thomas Isaac said that bodies of expats who die abroad will be brought back to Kerala at government cost. NORCA will bear all the charges in connection with this. This was included as the 18th plan in the budget.
Other highlights are –
Rs. 81 crore for Loka Kerala Sabha. Loka Kerala Sabha is an event hosted by the state government of Kerala to bring Keralites living around the globe under one platform. It was hosted under the department of Non-Keralite Residents. It aims at utilizing the expertise of Non-Resident Keralites for developing Kerala state.
Rs 25 crore for ‘Santhvanam’ for helping expats having annual income less than Rs 1 lakh
Rs 5 crore for Loka Kerala Sabha and Global NRI fest
