THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Pinarayi Vijayan Government has extended their helping hand to Sabarimala Temple and Travancore Devaswom board who incurred losses after the apex court allowed women of all ages to the holy shrine. An amount of Rs 739 crore has been earmarked for Sabarimala in the state budget. The government is not taking a single rupee from Sabarimala revenue, said Finance Minister Thomas Isaac while presenting the budget.
There will be a facility like Tirupati model in Sabarimala temple. An amount of Rs 200 crore has been kept apart for the development of roads in Sabarimala. Rs 147.75 crore has been approved for infrastructure development at Pampa-Nilakkal. Rs 40 crore has been permitted for a sewage treatment plant with a capacity of one core litre in Pampa. There will be a new parking facility in Ranni and Nilakkal.
Rs 100 crore has been specially sanctioned for Travancore Devaswom Board. Rs 36 crore has been sanctioned for Kochi and Malabar devaswom boards.
