THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala state budget for 2019-20 fiscal year announced plans to save KSRTC from crisis. For this, the government called out for the cooperation of management and employees to help increase income and cut down costs. The government will allocate Rs 1000 crores in the first year of this package. This will continue in 2019-20 as well. Rs 921 crores has been spent on pension, salary, and repayment of loan. Free services of KSRTC will be compensated.
For Thiruvananthapuram International Airport, 18 acres will be acquired. Kochi metro lane from Maharajas to Petta will be completed by 2019-20. Vizhinjam harbor has reached 40 percent completion. In order to expand shipping operations at Azheekal, Beypore, Kollam, Vizhinjam and Ponnani, Rs 48 crores have been allowed. Harbour Engineering Department will be receiving Rs 10 crores.
