THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala budget for 2019-20 fiscal year has set aside Rs 1420 crores for women empowerment projects. Finance Minister Dr. T.M. Thomas Isaac also stressed the importance of women wall. In the budget, Thomas Isaac also announced women wall monuments with the association of Lalit Kala Akademi.

Thomas Isaac also announced an annual award for women empowerment deeds. Kudumbasree products will be branded as part of the development of livelihood.

Women will be employed in over 2000 geriatric care centers. About 100 roadside take-a-break centers will be started. Toilets, snack counters, and restrooms will be arranged here. In order to make this facility available at petrol pumps, the government will try to sign a deal with petrol companies.
