Every day, someone stages an attack towards the houses of CPM and BJP workers. A house us not just the worker’s residence. It is a place where the family also resides. What did the poor family members do? Attacks usually happen at night or when no one is at home. This form of revenge is an extreme of cowardice. Southern districts had not seen such attacks till recent times. However, such attacks are common in the southern districts as well.

Political parties are not there just in India or Kerala. They exist in almost every countries. There are 123 democratic countries in the world. Even in small countries, there are a lot of political parties. There are several parties in countries where people are generally considered to be highly sensitive politically. Israel is smaller than Kerala with a population of just 90 lakh people. There are 34 political parties in Israel. They are healthy and know to stage attacks. However, such political attacks happen there only during elections. Development of the country and people’s happiness are important for parties. Even the public is aware of this. When politics leaps into desire for power from ideologies, attacks and clashes occur. If the significant thing to consider is ideology, then only ideological debates occur. However, when ideologies disappear and power becomes a temptation, these verbal debates may not be enough. Parties light a fire on highly sensitive emotions so that the workers keep in high spirits during elections. A person with common sense can understand that the leaders just want to assume power by employing any method they can.

Do these people who stage an attack think about the ideologies and political stands of their own parties? They do not even think whether their leaders’ houses are getting attacked. Usually, common workers’ houses are being attacked. Attackers and victims usually have anger and revenge in their minds. Most of them won’t be financially stable to rebuild their houses and lives.

The most common thing about Kerala is that people from the same family may be believers of different political ideologies. A college student’s politics won’t be same as his or her parents. Husbands and wives might be believing in different ideologies. This is very natural in our state. Those who stage these attacks at houses should understand this. House is as important as our food. Staging an attack at houses is similar to mixing poison in your opponent’s well.

Such revengeful actions can be avoided if the party leadership intervene effectively. The common workers are not thinking properly. Such actions should be avoided immediately.
