MALAPPURAM: IUML high committee has decided to strongly request for a third Lok Sabha election seat at the UDF meeting proposed on February 10. P.K. Kunjalikkutty has been tasked with raising the request of a seat in any one of Wayanad, Vadakara, Kasaragod or Palakkad constituency. IUML will point out their organizational power and pressure from IUML members. If K.M. Mani is eligible for two seats, then the league will take a stand that they are eligible for three.
Sitting MPs P.K. Kunjalikkutty and E.T. Muhammed Basheer is proposed to contest from Ponnani and Malappuram. Panakkad Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal presided the meeting in which P.K. Kunjalikkutty, E.T. Muhammed Basheer, K.P.A. Majeed, and other main leaders participated.
KPCC President Mullappally Ramachandran and opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala met with Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal before the meeting. They said to have informed IUML leadership about the importance of Congress contesting in more seats.
