ALAPPUZHA: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s stand on the Sabarimala issue was correct, said Tamil actor Vijay Sethupathi. I am a die-hard fan of Pinarayi and I am attracted on the way he handled things like Sabarimala issue, he said in an interview.
I am fortunate to have shared the dais with the chief minister once. When he came, I felt like a school headmaster coming. It was pin drop silence. He was cool. He can deal any issue with maturity, the actor said. He had provided Rs 10 crore when Gaja cyclone wreaked havoc in Tamil Nadu. We should be obliged to that. On Sabarimala issue, the actor said it’s easy to be a male. They can enjoy life. However, women are not like that. They have to suffer pain every month. We know that pain is for what and that is pure. None of us would be here if women don’t have that qualities. Women is god and how can they be tainted. The chief minister’s stand on the issue was right, he said.
The actor is in Alappuzha for the shoot of Mamanithan. Like the exploitation towards women the excesses towards male should also be discussed. He cited the ‘Me Too for it’. Organisations like WCC should also be formed in the Tamil film industry, he said.
