Actor Mohanlal has come forward asserting that he is not into politics amidst speculations that he would contest polls in BJP ticket.
‘Politics is not my cup of team. I had always wanted to remain as an actor. I enjoy the freedom gotten from this profession. Many depend on you in politics and it is not easy. I don’t know much about politics and I don’t want to come into it, he said in an interview to a national daily.
Senior BJP leader O Rajagopal had the other day asserted that the party is considering the actor to contest in the capital city. The actor came forward soon after it.
Mohanlal had in September met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Janmashtami Day in New Delhi. The actor called on Modi to appraise him of the welfare activities of Viswasanthi Foundation, a trust named after his parents. Soon after this meeting, it was speculated that the actor would contest polls. Modi had tweeted the meeting also.
Mohanlal is presently on the shooting location of Priyadarshan’s Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham in Hyderabad.
