THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: It has been hinted that Mizoram governor Kummanam Rajasekharan, party general secretary K Surendran or actor Mohanlal is likely to contest in Thiruvananthapuram assembly as BJP candidate. RSS has directed that one of them should be the candidate. RSS seeks people’s opinion to make a final decision. Thiruvananthapuram is a constituency where BJP has a strong base, and they want to exploit it. The survey is being conducted through RSS ‘vichar kendras’. Sitting MP Shashi Tharoor is likely to be the Congress candidate in Thiruvananthapuram.

RSS had found that K Surendran is highly popular in all the constituencies in Kerala. Surendran’s involvement in Sabarimala issue and the arrest has increased his popularity. Central leaderships’ decision is crucial regarding Kummanam Rajasekharan’s chances for contesting from Malappuram.

Meantime, it was reported that super star Mohanlal will contest from Thiruvananthapiram. RSS assumes that Mohanlal may win at Thiruvananthapuram and they are trying to form a people’s front so that Mohanlal won’t be seen as a BJP candidate. O Rajagopal has confirmed that talks are going on regarding this.
