THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is no situation for the national leaders to contest in Kerala, said BJP state general secretary K Surendran. The leaders of Kerala are capable of contesting here. The CPM will understand the strength of NSS in the polls, he said. Surendran said the situation in Kerala is such that winning chances are there if party activists contest. Meantime, NSS is an independent constitutional organisation. Who gave CPM the right to discuss the domestic affairs of NSS? It is not right to say that one should follow the footsteps of Kodiyeri and the Marxist party, he said.

Surendran said Kodiyeri smells failure and it is out of fear, such statements are made.

Kodiyeri had stated that NSS should make their stand clear if entering into politics and that a shadow fight is not needed. The NSS had taken an anti-CPM stand. It is good for the NSS not to interfere into politics. If not, they should openly say their political stand. They should openly state whether they are supporting the BJP or the Congress.
