PATHANAMTHITTA: Sabarimala thantri Kandararu Rajeevaru has said that he had not violated Supreme Court order in connection with women’s entry in Sabarimala. He said this in reply to the notice served on him by the Devaswom board.
“When the chief minister confirmed that two women entered Sabarimala, I had called executive officer and administrative officer to my room and said that I shall have to do purification rites as part of the customs and it will last 45 minutes. This was conveyed to the Devaswom Board president over phone, as well. The allegations of the Board Commissioner is baseless. Moreover, the purification rites – idol purification and punyaham- are usually done before Makaravilakku. I had only done customary rites,” he explained in his reply to Devaswom board.
Devaswom board Commissioner Vasu also confirmed the receipt of the reply. This will discussed in the board meeting to be held on Tuesday.
