THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: NSS general secretary G Sukumaran Nair lashed out at CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and said that he has no right to criticise them for standing with the devotees in the Sabarimala issue. He need not teach politics to NSS. We have not intervened in the internal affairs of any political party. The NSS said they have always taken a cordial stand with the state government. We are not for any shadow fighting with anyone, Nair added.
The NSS has a clear stand that faith in god and the rituals of Sabarimala should remain. The NSS had been a party in the case that is before the Supreme Court from the beginning and wants to protect the customs and traditions of these temples. That's why the NSS filed a review plea when the verdict in women entry came.
The government took steps to execute the verdict without taking into account the emotions of the devotees. At a time the government moved to these measures, the NSS had contacted the main party’s leader leading the government.
The government should not act in haste. Till a decision comes in the review plea filed, the steps need to be stopped. The organisation which was cordial with the government had asserted that if they move forward in this manner, then they will stand with the devotees.
