NEW DEHI: The Supreme Court has reserved its verdict on Sabarimala review pleas after a five-judge bench heard the matter. The hearing on the review pleas filed against the verdict of the constitutional bench allowing women of all ages to enter Sabarimala has been completed and the Supreme Court has postponed the verdict in the case. However, it is not clear when the verdict will be pronounced. When the petitioners argued that the verdict is wrong, the state government and the devaswom board strongly opposed the review pleas.

Advocate K Parasaran argued that the court passed the order without considering many constitutional maters and is literally wrong. The lawyer who appeared for the tantri opined that if women entry is permitted, then the deity will lose its celibacy. In the meanwhile, the court had to intervene when a dispute broke out between the lawyers and threatened to stop the court proceedings. The court censured the lawyers when they requested to hear their arguments.

The pleas were considered by a constitutional bench led by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoyi, Justices A M Khanwilkar, Rohington Nariman, D Y Chandrachud and Indu Malhotra. 65 pleas including 56 review pleas of tantri Kandarau Rajeevaru, NSS, Pandalam Palace Management Committee, Akhila Bharatheeya Ayyappa Seva Sangam, Yoga Kshema Sabha, All Kerala Brahmana Federation, Prayar Gopalakrishnan, BJP leader B Radhakrishna Menon, P C George, Rahul Easwar and various organisations were considered today.
