KOCHI: Labourer dies after getting electrocuted during culvert construction. Two others were injured. Muthurulandi (21), Ramanathapuram Paramakudi native is the deceased. The incident was around 9.45 a.m. at Chakkarapparamb, Vyttilla.
In a work to widen the culvert, the deceased was electrocuted by an underground 11 kV line. All three were electrocuted while using a hand-operated digging machine. Muthurulandi, who handles jackhammer, was thrown away by electric shock. They were given primary aid by locals. Muthurulandi passed away in route to the hospital. The injuries of the other two were minor and were allowed to leave the hospital after some O.P. tests. Palarivattom police have filed a case for unnatural death. It’s been two weeks since the work started.
However, KSEB authorities say that they weren’t informed about any such work.
