KOTTAYAM: Travancore Devaswom Board president and members kept away from festival functions of the Ettumanoor Temple fearing protests from devotees. The devaswom board had taken a U-turn at the Supreme Court yesterday on women entry in Sabarimala.

The board decided to respect the verdict and their advocate had informed the apex court that that it is high time that a particular class not be discriminated on the grounds of biological attributes. This led to widespread protests and the protests in Ettumanoor were as follows.

None of the board members attended the cultural meet held after the kodiyettu. Sources close to the temple trust clarified that they kept away following reports of protests. Activists led by Sabarimala Karma Samithi were positioned inside the temple to stop board members from entering the temple.
