THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Illegal fund collection and withdrawing money from party account for no valid reason is resulting in voices of differences within the district unit of the BJP.

The differences came out after the district committee treasurer, a Muraleedharam loyalist, gave a letter, removing the party worker who was handling the bank account of BJP district committee.

The development has also worsened the relationship between V Muraleedharan and P K Krishnadas factions at a time when the BJP is eyeing seats in the Parliament election.

The treasurer had demanded the account details of the money withdrawn from the bank. Soon after this, certain leaders tried to change the treasurer but the core committee didn’t allow this.

The district core team compromises district president, general secretary, other State office-bearers and Morcha State presidents. Since most of the State leaders in the district are Muraleedharan loyalists, the Treasurer could not be removed.

Following this, the person who was handling the bank account was removed and a letter citing this was given to him. A summary of district committee resolution was also mentioned in the letter.
