Political observer and advocate Jayasankar has criticised the devaswom board for the U-turn on women entry in Sabarimala. This government and the devaswom board believe in science and not Ayyappa. For them, menstrual faith is more sacred than Ayyappa faith, mocks Jayasankar.

Jayasankar’s Facebook post says, “We have stated earlier that the government and the devaswom board are with the devotees. We are repeating it, we are with the believers. This government and the board believe in science and not Ayyappa. Respect activism rather than superstition. Menstrual faith is more sacred than faith in Ayyappa."
