kodiyeri-balakrishnan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There are differences of opinion between devaswom board president and commissioner on the conduct of Sabarimala case in the Supreme Court. CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan had summoned devaswom commissioner to the AKG Centre. The commissioner had informed Kodiyeri the things that happened in the Supreme Court and his disagreement on certain things.

Meantime, it is also heard that devaswom board president A Padma Kumar has complained to Kodiyeri on the stand taken in the apex court. He said that it was taken without consulting him. A team led by devaswom recruitment board chairman Rajagopalan Nair, devaswom commissioner N Vasu and members Sankardas and Vijaya Kumar are isolating him.

Padmakumar said that if things are going on like this, then I don’t intend to continue in the post. An emergency meet of the board will be convened in two days.

The chief minister and the party leadership are displeased with the board president for changing his stand now and then in the Sabarimala issue. The commissioner supports government stand. It has also been circulated that there is a move to replace devaswom recruitment board chairman M Rajagopalan Nair with Padma Kumar. Nair also accompanied the commissioner to AKG Centre yesterday. In the wake of Lok Sabha polls, there is a concern that the change of president will be adversely affected.
