KOCHI: The Kerala High Court criticised granting parole to P K Kunhanandan again. Kunhanandan undergoing jail term in the T P Chandrasekharan murder case had approached the court seeking his release on medical grounds. He sought permission for treatment temporarily discontinuing his jail term.
The court asked why he cannot continue treatment in the medical college itself. He can keep one bystander. Does he need to go outside, asked the court? The court postponed considering the case.
The court had earlier criticised granting continuous parole to Kunhanandan. The government had informed the court that immediate treatment is needed for him as he has serious health issues. The court had stated that it is the duty of the government to provide treatment to prisoners.
