KASARAGOD: A higher secondary school teacher was beaten up by a student for questioning malpractice in an exam. Cheruvathur Thimiri native Bobby George, working as a teacher at Chemmanad Jama-at Higher Secondary School, was beaten up with pieces of a wooden desk, fracturing his hand. The teacher was later admitted to hospital and his fractured hand plastered.
There are complaints that the student’s father threatened Bobby George. Following the incident, the PTA committee and teachers lodged a complaint with Kasaragod Town police. The locals of the place also demanded strict action.
The police registered a case against the student under several sections after recording the statement of the teacher. The district police Chief Dr. A. Srinivas also directed the town police to take stringent action.
