KOCHI: The court has remanded a serial actor who allegedly took lakhs of money from a woman after offering to arrange Mudra loan for her. The accused person is Thrissur Pazhayangadi Paliyoor resident Vijo P Johnson (33). He is an accused in a number of fraud cases.

Police arrested him for taking Rs 10,50,000 from her by fraud. Moovattupuzha police said that Vijo will be taken into custody. He was caught with the help of cyber cell.

Vijo used to dupe people using the friendship he struck at cinema sets. When the police rounded up his house, he tried to slide down the terrace, jumped the wall and tried to escape but was caught by a special police team formed by Moovattupuzha DySP K Bijumon.

CI C Jayakumar, SI CS Sharon were part of the team. Vijo, who had undergone jail term in Viyyur jail for similar cases, is also an accused in three money fraud case and land deal case in which took Rs 5 lakh by fraud. He used to go around in posh cars in mornings and slept off on rooftops of his house during nights.
