THRISSUR: Several posters have shown up in the city that reads ‘No outsider and old-timer in Thrissur Parliament seat’ with ‘Save Congress I’ at the bottom.

On noticing this, Congress activists removed the posters. In the recent Lok Sabha elections, candidates were not Thrissur natives. There was criticism amongst Congress leaders on this.

These posters that popped up during candidate discussions are sure to unsettle Congress party leadership. Last time K.P. Dhanapalan lost to C.N. Jayadevan. Back then, infighting between groups and opposition towards the candidates were thought to be the reason for failure. As per rumors, former M.P. P.C. Chacko, K.P. Dhanapalan, T.N. Prathapan, and V.M. Sudheeran are the forerunners for Thrissur and Chalakkudy seats.
