In this situation, the police has decided to take preventive measures to curb protests.
Nearly 3000 policemen will be deployed in order to ensure the safety of devotees. SP V Ajith and DySPs Prathapan and Pradeep will be in charge of the security. Telecommunication SP H Manjunath and DySPs Harikrishnan, V Suresh Kumar will monitor the situation in Pampa, Kollam commissioner P Madhu and DySPs Sajeevan and Jawahar Janadh will be in charge at Nilakkal.
A tense situation witnessed when the temple opened during the Malayalam month of Thulam, is not there now. If women reach the temple when it opens for Kumba masa pooja, it may lead to protests.
