THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A war of words broke out between advocate and media critic Jayashankar and S Rajendran MLA during a channel discussion. Jayashankar harshly criticised S Rajendran MLA for insulting Devikulam sub collector Renuraj for issuing a stop memo in connection with the illegal construction in Idukki.

The two crossed swords during a private channel discussion. When the MLA asked Jayashankar to speak decently, the latter immediately said ‘Oh I am not a scholar like you’.

In the midst of the talks, Jayashankar requested bright students of Kerala not to go for civil services. The reason is once in service, they will have to hear abusive words from scholars like Rajendra and Mani Asan. Provoked by this, Rajendran's ‘gentle’ reference came.

Jayashankar replied, “Rajendra, please keep quiet. Let me talk. I am not dignified like you. I’m a scoundrel. I engage in goonda activities. Youngsters should not go for civil services. We should remember the incident faced by Sreeram Venkitaraman. We have heard what Mani Asan said’.

What is women empowerment? Apart from MNREG workers, has anyone from Idukki turned up for the women wall? Kudumbashree people came. Why did they come? They came fearing that if they don’t attend, they will lose their wages. The women wall was formed on January 1 and women entered Sabarimala on January 2nd. Then ended the renaissance.
