THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The CPM directed devaswom board president A Padma Kumar not to make any confusing statements on women entry in Sabarimala. CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan arraigned Padma Kumar for the present situation. Kodiyeri has instructed him to act in accordance with the party.

The CPM leadership assessed that Kumar’s statement in Aranmula the next day after the board informed their stand in the apex court, is due to the intervention of external forces. Padma Kumar changing stand on women entry was as per the interests of those against women entry in Sabarimala. Kumar was censured after devaswom commissioner N Vasu met Kodiyeri.

It is the lapse of the board president not giving a precise direction to the devaswom commissioner before he was sent to the apex court. CPM leadership has asked board president not to make any contradictory statements.
