THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: As LDF is preparing for an all-party meet, CPI has decided that they should not give up their four sitting seats. The all party will be held in the next three days. CPI has four sitting seats – Thiruvananthapuram, Mavelikkara, Thrissur and Wayanad. Though there was an idea to exchange Thiruvananthapiram seat, CPI took the decision that such an exchange won’t be productive for the party. CPI state executive meet is also being held on Monday. The meeting will discuss the preparations to be conducted for upcoming general elections.

The party hopes to declare the candidates by March first week. Final list will be published after the national leaders’ meet of CPI. CPM will also finalize the candidate list following the central committee meeting on March 3rd and 4th. Janathadal S had also received a seat during the previous Lok Sabha elections. The decision regarding the allotment of one seat to JD(S) will be discussed in the all-party meet.

Lok Tantrik Janata Dal is also hoping to contest from Vadakara. However, the probability of allotting a seat to LJD is not likely. Democratic Kerala Congress hopes for Pathanamthitta or Chalakkudi. However, they will ask for a seat only if the front feel so. Many leaders believe that Francis George’s candidature in Pathanamthitta will be helpful for them.
