IDUKKI: Not only in her stands, Devikulam sub-collector Dr. Renu Raj IAS is powerful in athleticism as well. Renu Raj IAS became first in the third Munnar Marathon’s ‘Run with fun’ category. She also underlined that MLA’s Rajendran’s harsh words didn’t affect her one bit.

Renu Raj came all geared up to participate in the seven-kilometer marathon and finished first. Munnar DFO Narendra Babu came second while Renu Raj’s father Rajakumaran Nair finished third.

The sub-collector was also the inaugurator of one of the events. There were three marathon events- 42 kilometers, 21 kilometers and 7 kilometers. There were participants from Canada, France, Poland and Serbia for the long distance events.

Renu Raj’s visit to Munnar yesterday was criticized by CPM district secretary K.K. Jayachandran on the misconception that it was an official visit to check the controversial building construction. Meanwhile, Renu Raj told Keralakaumudi that it wasn’t an official visit. Renu Raj was accompanied by father Rajakumaran Nair and mother Latha.
