KOTTAYAM: As the fight for candidacy and candidate is severe inside Kerala Congress (M), P.J. Joseph wants to know the decision. Joseph is anxious whether Mani is going to be content with a seat at Kottayam. Candidate discussion is about to start after ‘Kerala Yatra’ lead by Jose K. Mani concludes on Thursday. Joseph is firm on his stand for two seats. Meanwhile, Joseph who was supposed to be at the closing ceremony of the march is on a foreign trip.
Mani group has been informed by top Congress leaders to be content with the seat at Kottayam. If P.J. Joseph manages to win and UPA comes to power, he will become a Union Minister instead of Jose K. Mani. So, Mani doesn’t want Joseph to contest. This forces Mani to take a neutral stand.
The situation will become worse if Joseph toughens his stand for a Lok Sabha seat as Jose K. Mani got a Rajya Sabha seat. There were rumors that Jose K. Mani won’t contest as he is a Rajya Sabha MP and Nisha Jose K. Mani might become the candidate. The party leadership dismissed these. At least a dozen candidate names popped up. The party leadership is considering members that are loyal and doesn’t create any trouble for Jose K. Mani. Joseph group leader Monce Joseph is not being considered because of that.
