THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Public Works Department has sped up the renovation works of roads ruined by floods, in order to finish most of it before the rainy season. Road construction works of different projects that cost Rs 3133 crores have been approved. The additional Rs 1400 crores which were allowed for post-flood works is in tender phase.
Another project costing Rs 10,216 crores is getting ready with the help KIFB. Administrative approval was given for reconstruction of 70 roads and three bridges which cost Rs. 484 crores. The tender has been prepared for 56 works with Central Road Fund’s Rs. 801 crores.
Maintenance works of 4429 kilometers length road have been completed. Renovation works for a total of 7956 kilometers of road was approved.
