ALUVA: It has been hinted that the body of an unidentified woman fished out the body from the Periyar River yesterday, was murdered by smothering. The autopsy report says there were no injuries on her body. There was no indication of using any force also. The woman's mouth was stuffed with a cloth.
The police had yesterday confirmed the incident as murder. The body was that of a woman of below 40 years. The body was four to seven days old and it was in a decomposed state. Nail polish was applied on the fingers of her hands and legs. There was some marks below her lip. Colour was applied on her hair. Police suspect the body to be a native of other state.
The Aluva rural police fished out the body from the Periyar River in Aluva on Tuesday evening. The body of the woman was first found by students of the Vincentian Vidhyabhavan Seminary near UC College at a nearby bathing ghat.
