THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPI General Secretary Sudhakar Reddy has said that the Congress will face strong backlash for working as the second team to BJP in Sabarimala women entry issue. He was talking after inaugurating LDF’s south sector led by CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.
“It’s unfortunate to see unconstitutional and unfair stand from the Congress. Can’t understand why the Congress is going to war against gender equality”, Reddy said.
Reddy also alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is framing cases against political leaders because he cannot confront them face to face.
“The state government complied with SC verdict that upholds gender equality. The Congress and the BJP tried to make use of the situation in the name of tradition. They want to take Kerala back to the 18th century. These parties welcomed the SC verdict when it was delivered. The BJP government in Maharashtra implemented a similar order. Their negative stand in Kerala on Sabarimala verdict is because of the LDF government as they cannot face the left front politically”, Sudhakar Reddy said.
“There is a sense of fear amongst the minority in the nation. Several people are killed in the name of cow protection. The frame everyone apart from the Sangh Parivar as anti-national. The difference between the rich and poor grew exponentially. Unemployment rate increased to 6.1 percent. The BJP used government institutions as political weapons”, opined Reddy.
