KASARGOD: Gold worth lakh stolen from a house was recovered on the fifth day. Gold was stolen from the house of Ramesh at Ozhinjavalappu in Kanhangad on February 10th. The burglars got into the house through the front door. They stole gold kept in two places of the house.

As Ramesh was not sure on the weight of the gold lost, the complaint lodged at the police station had mentioned a loss of 25 sovereigns of gold. However, Ramesh got back all the lost gold.

The police had conducted an intense probe on it. Finger prints of many including the locals were collected. It is suspected that the thief may have returned the gold back fearing to be caught. The gold will be produced at the Hosdurg First Class Magistrate Court on Friday.
