KOCHI: The police found that a man and a woman is behind the murder of the woman spotted floating in the Periyar River close to UC College in Aluva. Police suspect the hands of a sex racket team behind the murder. The CCTV clippings of the vehicle carrying the body and the shop from where the blanket was bought to drape the body has been detected.

It has been confirmed that the blanket was bought from a shop in Kalamassery. A man and a woman bought the blanket from the shop which closes late. When the shopkeeper gave them a blanket first, they said that it won’t be enough and then bought a bigger one.

In a search at whole sale shops in Kochi, it was noticed that small traders had bought 860 blankets of the same design. In a search conducted after that, the police reached the shop which closes late. A scientific examination of the body mentioned that the body is of five days old.
