WAYANAD: Sister Lucy, who had taken part in nuns’ protest against Bishop Franco, was again served a show cause notice which contained the warning that she would be expelled from the missionary community if she breached ecclesiastical discipline.

“Sister Lucy had bought a car and published a book without the permission of Mother Superior. Sister Lucy, who breached the oath of austerity, had inflicted unnecessary monitory loss on the church. The sister has also made it a habit to arrive at the convent room very late. These are all against church rules,” says the notice.

The notice further blames Sr Lucy Kalappura for allowing a woman journalist to stay in her room for a night without the permission of Mother Superior. Her earlier explanations were just her personal justifications. This is the third time that the church is issuing a show cause notice to her. The explanation given by her for earlier notices were not satisfactory. The sister will be expelled if an explanation is not given within March 10.

Meanwhile, Sister Lucy reacted that more accusations were there in the latest show cause notice and she had nothing much to explain. “I’m living in a right way…I have not done any wrong and I can’t give an answer in order to please the church. My wish is to continue as a nun in the convent,” she added.
