DUBAI: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who is on a four-day visit to UAE, said in the first regional summit of the Loka Kerala Sabha (LKS) West Asian meet that Dubai model smart police stations will be set up in the state. Smart stations will be free of employees and paper. There won’t be a need for mediators either. Such stations will look like ATM kiosks. One can voice their requests in five languages. People will also be able to talk with any police officers. This will be recorded at the Police Headquarters.
Smart stations will be operational 24x7. World’s first full operational digital smart police station is in Jumeirah, Dubai. Chief Minister made a visit to the station with Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief Major General Abdulla Khalid Al-Meri, Brigadier Abdulla Khadim, Colonel Hussain Bin Khalitta, and Major Ahmed Bin Fahad.
CM Vijayan said that the Dubai Police Commander-in-Chief has promised all assistance for starting smart stations in Kerala. Dubai will send an expert to included Malayalam in the smart station kiosk. Without any delays, the CM directed the IT secretary to take further steps. He has also advised the DGP, Loknath Behera to study about smart stations.
