KOLLAM: The police arrested a youth who insulted a pregnant woman while on an early morning walk. The incident happened one and a half months back. Shajahan (33) of Iravipuram was arrested last night from Alancode. He has been charged for insulting the woman and murder attempt.

He tried to insult the woman near Adicaud railway gate at Bharanikavu. When the woman tried to capture his picture in her mobile, he escaped after injuring her with his bike. He was hiding at his sister’s place. The police identified Shajahan on the details given by the woman. He agreed to have insulted many women on morning stroll. No one had lodged any complaints against him. He was arrested by a team led by sub inspectors S Sreekumar and S Aneesh.
