KOTTAYAM: NSS general secretary Sukumaran Nair has come forward with a reply to CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s statement that a good majority in Nair Service Society (NSS) are with the Left Front. The statement that majority of NSS members is with the LDF is meaningless. The CPM should not see the NSS as a small organisation. We are not an organisation who makes gains as and when time comes. One should remember the condition of those who had opined like this before, said Nair.
Kodiyeri had asserted yesterday that community organisations are not an enemy of his party. Caste organisations are not enemies of the communist movement. The left front is always ready to cooperate with the NSS, he said during his Kerala Raksha Yatra. Majority of the members of NSS are with the Left parties though the leadership may have some differences. Kodiyeri had also lauded the reformist initiatives of caste organisations and recalled how communist movements collaborated with those organisations for realising renaissance.
