THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Even though the CPM leadership has denied any connection with the murders of Youth Congress activists in Karagode, CPM is facing a political struggle following the incident. The incident happened following the commencement of southern and northern area marches of LDF. Leadership believe that this might also put them in a sensitive position. They had to cancel the march for one day.

A resentment has originated among LDF workers regarding the incident. CPI minister E Chadrasekharan has responded that those who commit such crimes should correct themselves. The incident happened while the government is set to celebrate its thousand days’ celebrations.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan had cancelled his programmes in Thrissur and reached AKG centre to discuss the matter with Kodiyeri Balakrishnan. It has been reported that Pinarayi informed Kodiyeri about the intelligence report regarding the programmes. It has also been reported that Pinarayi told Kodiyeri to deny the allegations regarding party’s involvement in the case, and advised him not to protect the accused.
