KASARGOD: The disappointment on the insult forced me to commit the murder, said Peethambaran. I was disappointed when the party did not intervene when Kripesh and Sharath Lal attacked him, he told police. The statement of the accused mentioned that they committed the crime in an intoxicated condition. Interrogation is progressing in the case.
Action was not taken even after complaining to the party. This triggered me to commit the crime. I decided to retaliate when no consideration was obtained even after being a local committee member. The murder was planned as he was unable to bear the insult, the statement mentioned.
Kripesh and Sharath Lal had attacked Peethambaran in Periya. He had fractured his hand then. Sharath Lal was remanded in the case registered and he was out on bail on February 8th. However, Peethamabaran wanted a case to be registered against Kripesh and others, but no action was taken.
On an investigation conducted, it was noticed that Kripesh had not attacked Peethambaran and he was at home at the time of the incident. On the basis of it, Kripesh was not implicated. He alleged that probe is not moving in the right direction. Even after voicing this in the party, a favourable stand was not taken.
Disappointed over it, he discussed about it with his friends. They planned it and committed the crime. He told police that he alone committed the crime. However, the police has not believed it. His friends who are in custody has given a similar statement. Peethambaran will be produced in the court later today.
