KANJANGADU: Kasargod twin murder accused A Peethambaran has been sent to seven days’ police custody. In its remand report, police had said that the provocation for the crime was political rivalry. Police told the court on Wednesday that CPM workers were the accused and they had to collect more evidence. Police also clarified in the court that there are more accused in the case.

The court observed that the crime was the one that shook the conscience of humanity and asked the police to conduct the medical examination of the accused in custody and submit the report within 48 hours.

Earlier, the police had recovered the weapons used for the twin murder. They had found sword and three iron rods. Peethambaran had identified the weapons used for the crime.
