KASARGOD: The heinous killings of Youth Congress activists Kripesh and Sharath Lal, had put the CPM in the dock. The party got into more trouble on Wednesday after the family of A Peethambaran, the former CPM local committee member who has been taken into custody for the killings, came out to condemn the party. They said that he won’t do anything without the instruction of the party.
Manju and her daughter Devika harshly criticised the CPM even when the party reiterated that they didn’t have any role in the incident.
“Whatever he has done was as per the directives of the party. He would do anything for the party,” she said.
Devika, a ninth standard student, said the party ousted him eyeing Lok Sabha polls. They took such an action in order to save the party’s face.
“The youth who got killed had thrashed Peehambaran’s hands with iron road after which he had to be operated upon to insert steel road. He needed other’s help to do anything after that and told me that he was going to end party activities. After this incident many visited him but after that no one was to be seen,” Manju told media persons.
Following the killing of Kripesh and Sharathlal, youth Congress workers had damaged their house and Manju and Devika had to shifted to another house in Kalyot.
